Copy of givein Hi, i'm a new member and just wanted to say a big thanks for the link to some good Oziexplorer maps, and other programs and INFO, I'm also a member of some other GPS sites and have been looking some time now for these maps so i could try out Oziexplorer for real. I didn't just want to join and grab some stuff and P--.Off.
I've been reading a lot of the forums etc and reckon "Geoff" is a Bloody Good Bloke, smart & helpfull
and that's rare. Thanks again and keep up the good work. We do appreciate it.Big Grin

I second the motion - "Geoff" is a Bloody Good Bloke, smart & helpfull

In files _Emap-AUS-Ozi__-_Australia_NSW_LPI_2of2__sid_map there are .map and sid files. Do we copy both set of files to the Maps directory of Oziexplorer or only .map files.

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
Both Files mate.
I think (Only guessing) that the map files are only images, and the sid file links the GPS to the image. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I know the two files go together...

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
Thanks mate,

I placed both "_Emap-AUS-Ozi__-_Australia_NSW_LPI_2of2 files" .map and .sid into the same "maps" folder.

I now get "image File Not Found or could not be loaded"

I am using your Ozi215.zip linked at Guests cannot see links in the messages. Please register to forum by clicking here to see links.

Any suggestions? Greatly appreciated....

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
Hey Guys
First of all, Thanks heaps for this site and all the help you are dishing out, it has been very very helpful to me.
Is there any chance i could ask for a bit more help. I have got an e-bay 7" monitor loaded with R66. This has been a good little unit , but i have bought a in dash double din unit. I thought it would be a good idea to run both unit , one with Igo and the other with Ozi-explorer. I used your downloads and manged to get ozi working on the 7" oufit, with a few problems.
I cant get the Hema maps to work as they dont create a Map file, even when i use the program that converts them to a smaller file. (Img2Ozf) This program did work well for the other maps that were downloaded.
I also cant change the time on the system. Is there a way of getting into the windowsCe directory?
Thanks in advance.
Marty

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
@banjanti,

It may be that your processor is not an ARM processor as that is the major reason that ECW maps won't work. It can also be caused by not enough memory for the particular map. The ECW.DLL file is only required for the PC version of OziExplorer and has no effect under the Win CE operating system.

Cheers, Ian

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
Anyone had any luck with the Hema maps from this site ??
I have Ozi on a Windows 7 lap top, no problems any maps I have, but can unzip but then do nothing them.
They unzip to a OZF2 file and a "legend" file no "map" files, if I rename the legend file to a map file Ozi locks up ??
I don't know if Ozi is the latest but no more than 6 months old and legit.

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
Continuing from the above post, have had a look at another Hema map that I have, they come with 2 parts the actual OZF file and a legend file, and normally a 'map' file these are not with the above download.
Oh well guess I will have to try and do them myself now that I have the actual map, but have not had much luck previously with making 'map' files.

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
I think the legend file is like an index to all the maps and you should be able to be import it into the PC Version of OziExplorer then choose the map you want and export a map file, or so I understand it. Google OziExplorer & Legend and there are several hits with some info.

Cheers, Ian

RE: Australiam Maps for Ozi
Thanks Geoff and all others who have contributed to this informative thread. Ozi is a complex but very interesting program. Takes a while to learn, but very good.
